New changes to ‘Work and Holiday,’ and ‘Working Holiday’ visas

New policies on Working Holiday visa programs were announced in order to assist farmers access a large number of overseas workers.

Please be noted new changes to ‘Work and Holiday’ and ‘Working Holiday’ visas as following:

Work and Holiday Visa Only

(Subclass 462)

Work and Holiday Visa (Subclass 462)

& Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417)

– Be able to apply for a second visa when undertaking ‘Regional Plant Work’ and ‘Animal Cultivation Work’

– Increase the number of places available for visa holders

– Be able to work with the same agriculture employer from 6 to 12 months

A third year visa available for those who complete 6 months of regional work in the second year, from 1 July 2019

*A strict workforce test will be conducted to ensure Australian workers are given the first opportunity to work.
